BACKGROUND
The Sluggers baseball program started in 1991. The Sluggers
baseball program and it’s league, Premier Baseball, is a
nationally known baseball program, well respected in amateur
baseball circles. The reputation has developed from the hard-
nosed style of play and the success against the top baseball
organizations in the country. In 2003, the Nebraska Sluggers
had for the first time, two teams playing on the national scene.
This past year, one of the best Nebraska Sluggers teams was
formed and competed throughout the Central United States
against some of the finest travel teams in the region from
Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and
Oklahoma.
What is the Philosophy of the Nebraska
Sluggers?
Sluggers is designed for the college bound athletes and
their parents. Families committed to participate in college
baseball must understand the time commitment involved in
the game to develop the skills individually and collectively.
The Sluggers will provide the opportunity to develop the
necessary skills through experienced coaching, practice
opportunities, and games against the top teams in the
country. Although exposure is important to everyone, our
primary focus will always be the development of the team. As
we enhanced the team in 2009, everyone has enhanced
their opportunity to play college baseball.

The Nebraska Sluggers
Mission
Sluggers is dedicated to the
development and preparation of
Nebraska's college-bound
baseball players. By attracting the
State's best baseball players with
an opportunity to compete in the
very best venues against top-flight
talent, we are able to prepare our
teams for the highest levels of the
college game. We recognize that
the only way to get to the next level
of play is to play at that level.
Sluggers is a member of the
Premier League and the teams
we face are comprised of the top
players that will play for the
universities in Texas, Louisiana,
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri,
Kansas, Tennessee and
Nebraska.
About Us
...It's A Whole New Level Of The Game!
The Sluggers program has been the avenue for college-bound
athletes. Premier Baseball League players are represented
well within Major League Baseball. As examples, this includes
Albert Pujols of the St Louis Cardinals, the 2001 NL Rookie of
the Year. In 2002, Blair Johnson became the highest pick in
Sluggers history, as the first pick in the second round by the
Pittsburgh Pirates. In 2009, Premier Baseball had the overall
#2 pick in the MLB Draft…Kevin Ahrens of the Houston Heat.
